This involves the signing event for the new book by President George W. Bush.

On Feb 25th I stood in line for 1.5 hours in 30 +/- degree weather to purchase a wrist band and three books to be signed on March 4th in a brief meet and greet type event. It was explained to me on the 25th that I could purchase up to 3 wrist bands and 9 books on three seperate purchases. I did that and asked at that time if only one person of the three that I was buying books for could attend the signing event would it be alright for that person to pick up all of the books. I was told that was fine.

I asked three different employees that same question and was told yes that was fine. When I attended the event I was told that there was NO WAY that an employee at the store would have told me that. A female employee then told me in no uncertain terms that I was in the wrong here. At this point there were around 20-30 people watching this.

I was then given a perp walk up to the cashier where I was refunded for two wrist bands and six books all the while repeating there was no way I was told this. The female employee that refunded my money was the one who i dealt with the week before. I got back in line and when she came back to me with my refund I told her I wasn't happy. A few minutes later she and another gentleman named Cody McMahan came back and he told me that if I wanted I could leave.

I exchanged emails days later with this store , a district manager and the corporate office on the east coast and to this day no one has maybe any attempt to make this right. All i want to make it right is an opportunity to re purchase the six books that had been more or less forcibly taken away from me

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $1200.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Barnes And Noble Cons: I was publicly humiliated in front of 20-30 people at this store.

As we told you before, ma'am, you were COMPLETELY WRONG in this situation. Either you totally misunderstood what our employees told you, or you are just making this up because you think you deserve special treatment.

We made ALL of the details VERY CLEAR from the beginning, and with such high-profile signings, we will not make any exceptions. Either get over it, or don't come back.

Anyone who wants to shop at this location -- now you're aware of the type of "customer service" you can expect. I would recommend all potential customers take their advice and don't come back.
